El
Salvador, a beautiful country that is located in Central America, is
now being attacked by one enemy, our own people. It is sad to see how
people are destroying this small but wonderful land. In our country like
in others, human rights protect more the criminals and corrupted people
than the hardworking Salvadoreans. Today the lost of values that we
have in our country is due to the lack of respect to others because
parents do not want to correct children. Indeed, now most people do not
salute each other in the mornings or any time during the day, and we
have more negative thoughts about our country and the government than
never before. Most people do not love nature, for they throw garbage
everywhere and kill our country slowly. Today if you go to schools,
children know more about music, video games, smart phones and others
gadgets than our own culture. It is sad how we deny what we are and what
we have to protect, our heritage.
The worst part is that one of
the principal problems that we face here is that people do not read.
They can waste hours in front of T.V watching insane programs. They
never get bored of the same, and a serious problem is that parents,
also, allow children to watch the same programs they do watch. In the
end if we continue in the same path, we will have destroyed everything
our grandparents constructed with a great effort, and our society will
become out of control. If we really want to survive in this globalized
world, we need to be proud of our cultural identities and spread it all
around the globe so that people know who we are, and if we have to
change something, it should be done for good.
